Alexander Sprague's current and future engagements include GONZALVE L'Heure Espagnole Angers Nantes Opera, FLUTE Britten A Midsummer Night's Dream Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Purcell Fairy Queen Oper Stuttgart (with Calixto Bieito and Christian Curnyn), ELECTRICIAN Adès Powder Her Face in a new production at The Royal Danish Opera and in Carlos Wagner's ROH production at Opera Bilbao, TAMINO The Magic Flute at the Lichfield festival, a recital of English song with Iain Burnside at the Ludlow English song weekend and concerts include roles in Wagner Parsifal with CBSO,  Handel Messiah for the London Handel Festival and the tenor arias in Bach's St Matthew Passion with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Alexander has performed extensively on the concert and recital platform, appearances include PASTORE L'Orfeo with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques at the Salle Pleyel, Paris, LEONARD The Yeoman of the Guard Philharmonia Orchestra and John Wilson, La Resurrezione Handel with London Handel Players at the Wigmore Hall, Handel Messiah with the London Festival Orchestra at The Royal Festival Hall, Bach St John Passion Lincoln Cathedral, Mozart Requiem St Martin in the Fields, and with the Northern Sinfonia in Durham Cathedral. Alexander has sung recitals at The Leeds Lieder Festival, London Handel Festival and Handel House.

Alexander has worked with conductors Sir Colin Davis, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Sir Charles Mackerras, Ingo Metzmacher, Martyn Brabbins, John Wilson, Laurence Cummings, Christophe Rousset and directors Claus Guth, Richard Jones, John Copley and Alvis Hermanis.
 

He studied at The National Opera Studio and The Royal Academy of Music, London where he was supported by the Nicholas John Trust, the Josephine Baker Trust and was the recipient of the Kohn Bach Foundation Scholarship. He is the winner of the Michael Oliver Prize of the London Händel Singing Competition and a former Britten Pears Foundation Scholarship recipient.
